CIFS Inventory

Comprehensive inventory and certificate reports, help with compliance requirements.

Automated inventory of your CIFS-enabled storage systems

CIFS inventory with Docusnap provides IT administrators and IT managers with an agentless method for comprehensive collection and documentation of CIFS-enabled storage systems. By integrating Docusnap into your IT infrastructure, you can avoid manual entries while ensuring that your data is always up to date and accurate.

A significant advantage of CIFS inventory using Docusnap is the ability to access target systems directly without the use of agents. This not only reduces resource consumption, but also avoids possible complications due to additional software installations on the systems to be inventoried. The collected data is automatically transferred to Docusnap's integrated Configuration Management Database (CMDB), which ensures a central and uniform database.

The collected data provides valuable insights into your IT landscape and forms the basis for a wide range of tasks. For example, IT administrators can access detailed information about hardware, installed software, and specific configurations. This data is essential for planning and decision-making processes, such as capacity planning or the strategic development of the IT infrastructure. In addition, CIFS inventory makes it easier to comply with compliance requirements by enabling complete documentation of all relevant systems and components.

Docusnap automatically creates a variety of output documents that support and optimize IT operations. This includes comprehensive inventory reports, which provide a detailed overview of all inventoried systems, as well as specific configuration reports that provide deeper insights into application server settings and configurations. Certificate reports, which provide information about expiring and expired certificates, are also helpful in order to identify and close security gaps in good time.
