To have an overview of which host your systems are virtualized on, you actually have to manually enter the virtualization host of the virtual machines. Unfortunately, Docusnap cannot automatically collect this information because the system knows that it is virtualized but does not know who its virtualization host is.

To help you with your documentation, we have now developed an SQL statement that automatically sets the virtualization host based on the inventoried virtualization technologies:

  • VMWare
  • Hyper-V
  • Citrix Hypervisor

The SQL statement can be executed either manually or automatically.

Your own message definitions and maintenance tasks can be stored in the Docusnap Administration.

For example, the virtualization host of a VM is automatically updated so that it is immediately apparent which VM is running on which host.
